Issue 10: Pol Taburet / Dexter Navy
Our biggest issue to-date puts French artist Pol Taburet and British filmmaker-photographer Dexter Navy together in creative collaboration. Navy's atmospheric, hedonistic photography, captures Taburet's masked alter ego “PYT” on a journey from cradle to grave to strip club.
The open-bound, slip-cased publication includes: 50+ page photoshoot and a collectable A1 poster featuring Navy’s photograph of PYT; an essay by the writer Matthew Holman on the “dark-romantic carnival” of Taburet’s horned mask; and a conversation between Taburet, Navy and Plaster’s creative director and co-founder, Finn Constantine, on the origin of the project.
Pol Taburet (Paris, France, 1997) lives and works in Paris. His style is immediately recognisable, bewitching in colour and captivating in composition. His most recent solo exhibitions include: Longlati, Shanghai (2024); Mendes Wood DM, Sao Paulo (2024); Pivô, Sao Paulo (2023); Lafayette Anticipations, Paris (2023).
Dexter Navy (London, UK) is one an artist, film director, photographer and of the most sought-after image makers working today. His aesthetic derives from an Egyptian/English heritage that taught him to combine the fields of art, craft, and design. His clients and collaborators include Adidas, André 3000, Dazed, Dior, Epoch, i-D, Interview, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Rick Owens and the Wall Street Journal.
